Neuro linguistic programming (NLP)

Neuro linguistic programming is the powerful and practical approach to personal change. It explores how we think, feel and communicate and it enables us to re-programme our minds in order to achieve our goals.

We will work with you to create the future you desire and the pathway to it. We will also help you to clear any negative experiences from your past that may have held you back so that you can work towards your life goals.

One of the presuppositions of NLP is that "We already have all the resources we need or we can create them". So if you want to alter your life in any way, you will already have what you need to do so at your fingertips - you just need to work out the outcomes you want and then make plans to get there.

NLP helps you to manage your thoughts, moods and behaviour by looking at how your thoughts and the way you think can affect your overall well-being, even your physical health. If you have internal conflicts you create external conflicts but these can be reconciled using NLP techniques.

What you believe deeply affects how your thought processes work and how you act. Your personal beliefs are all based upon your own life experiences- some of which will be useful and should be used to develop your own personal well-being.

NLP has four pillars which are the principles of success: -

  1. Establish rapport with yourself and others- no matter what you do or what you want in life, being successful will involve relating to and influencing others. The better your mental rapport with yourself, the more you feel at peace in your own mind. There are many people who have all the trappings of success yet are unhappy within themselves. This causes internal conflicts which lead to external ones and the quality of rapport you have with yourself often mirrors what you will achieve with others.
  2. Know what you want and set your goals or outcomes- decide what you want from your life. The clearer you are the more easily you will realise when you have achieved it. Accessing your unconscious mind can help you to work out what you really want.
  3. Sensory acuity- use your senses to look at, listen to and feel what is happening to you.
  4. Behavioural flexibility- keep changing what you do until you get what you want.
